Comment by Axel Nanko on January 18, 2012 at 10:07am thank's a lot. it was taken in croatia in 2003. i have released this fish, which we estimated around 100kg.
Comment by John LoGioco on January 18, 2012 at 11:40pm Thanks for the details. That is a beautiful picture. The water is lighter in color - is that because the water is shallow? By chance did you tag this bluefin on the release?
Comment by Axel Nanko on January 19, 2012 at 11:07am Hi John, I'm sorry, because I didn't had any tags in 2003, but all the next Bluefins will be tagged in the future. The depth of the water is around 200m. If you have google earth, you can search for the lighthouse Blitvenica in Croatia (it`s nearly 20 miles in the west of Sibenik) and there is our favorite place to catch Bluefin, Albacore, Swordfish and Amberjack. The name of our harbour is Jezera (don`t confound with Plitvice Jezera, this is far away from the shore). The water at the East coast of the Adriatic sea is allways very clear. In the North it`s very shallow (40m), in the middle around 200m and in the South up to 1000m. May I ask for your favorite fishing area?
