Hey Captain! thanks for joining SaveTheBluefin. Every voice counts in this fight to save one of the ocean's greatest fish. The scientists have produced the data but the policy makers driven by greedy commercial fishing interest keep taking too many of these tuna out of the Atlantic. So this site is about the voice of the people to apply pressure from the ground up. Thanks for taking the effort here. Voices from people like yourself are so important because most people have never seen a bluefin tuna up close. Guys like you and me who fish know how awesome these fish are, and that an ocean without them is intolerable. If you are chartering, your role to spread awareness is key to clients who may not be fully versed in the current situation.
btw - there is also a FACEBOOK Group called Save The Bluefin Tuna - if you are on Facebook this is an easy way to increase awareness with friends.
Finally, if you go out to buy or eat fish and tuna is on the menu or in the case, ask what kind of tuna it is, and if its bluefin you can politely pass and tell them how you feel, or walk out and tell them you don't support businesses who are profiting from the last of a great species.
I am doing this so my kids can see the mighty bluefin swimming in our oceans when they grow up. At this point people like yourself, who voice their concern is a powerful tool to win this fight and get the bluefin back on track. so thanks :)
