Big Yellowfin, Pole Caught, Years Ago

Fascinating video. I hate the part where they shoot the shark but if you can get over that there is someting to this footage. No by catch, no taking the entire school like a seiner, no killing of juveniles if you want too - maybe this is the way forward. The price would be higher for tuna caught like this, certianly the meat would be in better condition, but this may be the answer. Tuna Tagging Program Is Rocking! Care Package Production Line!

NMFS Closes Giant Bluefin Category For Anglers

NMFS just closed the Angling Category for large medium and giant bluefin from Great Egg Inlet, New Jersey North effective July 18th. The announcement below. 66% More Bluefin Last Year Says NOAA

HMS/NOAA's bluefin tuna landings report to June 30th shows more bluefin were caught last year, 707 in 2009 versus 472 this year so far. That's a 66% decrease.
